On Lessons Learned and Forgotten

After recalling an old episode I had forgotten, I thought I might look over my old diaries again to see what else I might have missed. Goodness! I don't recognize the person who wrote any of this, at all, at all. I guess that Saturn return was far harsher than I thought it was: rightly is it said that He devours His children.

It seems I used to write rather a lot of poetry. I humbly offer these three up for the pertinent lessons they contain:

Saint Augustine of Hippo wrote in his Confessions, "What, then, is time? If no one asks me, I know; but if I wish to explain it to someone who asks, I know not."

A. A. Milne, in Winnie-the-Pooh, asked Christopher Robin, "Don't you remember [the other stories]?" and Christopher Robin answered, "I do remember, and then when I try to remember, I forget."

Both of those seem appropriate to the present discussion!
