That is interesting! I had no idea, and to be honest it raises quite a few questions about the nature of the gods and the world.
It occurs to me that essentially every offering I've ever made to my deity is associated with (the planet) Venus in some way: wine, apples, origami, etc. I didn't set out to follow a pattern, but it seems appropriate enough (both because of the nature of the deity, and because my natal Venus is in my eighth house, of things given away).
