This is great. Although this game seems to be describing a purely physical process, really reminiscent of the rules of "participation" that the Neoplatonists (Proclus's Elements of Theology, especially) adopt on a metaphysical level to describe how operators "above" on the chain interact with those "below" them. (Forgive me for sounding like a broken record...)
