Possibly? That map shows a pretty sparse range, but maybe nobody cared enough to really track it, or taxonomists being taxonomists, they're quibbling over classification.
Regardless, our elderberries are far from fragrant and I probably wouldn't want any sort of beverage made with their flavor profile predominating.
