One thought I've been having; the Egyptian "original" theology seems to me more "pure" than the later Greek, which feels like a rough facsimile, and one that is sullied by some rather crude/rude myths. This thought sort of coincides with something from Iamblichus I was reading last night where he suggests that Egyptian and Assyrian are sacred languages that convey unadulterated god names, thereby implying that Greek isn't one of those. This attitude seems to prevail all throughout the Pythagorean lineage.
Secondly, and speaking of Pythagoreans, do you happen to know how much the tetractys relates to the (later) Tree of Life? I've seen some people suggesting that the former is the source of the latter. (Something tells me you may have done a post on this topic some time ago, but I could be wrong).
