Absolutely fascinating. I do not know much about Egyptian theogony, but you make a compelling case that Pythagoras syncretized Egyptian theogony into Greek mythology.

I have spent some time considering the Tetractys and the Greek theogony, but I went back to see if I could overlay your description on my understanding. (If you haven't read A Study of Numbers by Schwaller de Lubicz, I highly recommend it.) I used Elements, rather than Egyptian deities, because I really don't know the Egyptian deities.

The Monad is the Intelligent Fire. Since it is a Unity, it contains masculine and feminine, so it is MF.

Strife separates it into Fire and Earth. These are the first two lines of the Tetractys:

MF (Intelligent Fire)

M-F (Earth)

De Lubicz posits that there are now 5 unities:

MF (Intelligent Fire)
M-F (Earth)
M (from Earth) (so Air or Elemental Fire?)
F (from Earth) (so Water?)
And the whole trinity of (MF, M, and F)

The Monad and Dyad are 5 unities (by separating); the Monad and Dyad make another unity (by joining), which gets us to the third row of the Tetractys, and 6 unities. (de Lubicz continues to explain how to get to 10…)

So Nut would be the Monad MF; Geb would the Dyad M-F.
Ra is the force of joining; Iah is the force of separating.

The Dyad would separate into Osiris and Isis (M and F).
And maybe the whole trinity is Horus?

And then the Triad would have Set and Nestis? I really don't know enough Egyptian mythology…

Regardless, de Lubicz's way of seeing the Tetractys provides a way of co-eval for the roots. :-)

Thank you for the fascinating post!
