Oh! That can be done by typing <code>I am typing on a typewriter</code> so long as Dreamwidth is in "Casual HTML" or "Raw HTML" mode.
Bots will pick it up, as it's just plain text from their perspective: the only difference is the font. (Nonetheless, I still don't recommend searching for that term. Ick.)
