Reading on the Daimonion

I ran across this lovely page on Socrates' daimonion. It gives a few nice excerpts, but the real treasure trove is the bibliography: I am finding particular value in Apuleius' On the God of Socrates.

Not unlike the genio in certain later formulations of classical religion. Or the guardian angel, for that matter.

This gentle spirit has saved my physical and spiritual life more times than I probably am even aware of, thanks to the blessed gods.
