Timaeus is a fascinating read, for sure. Some aspects of it are more mysterious than others, but the entire thing is worth a go.

I think you are on to something here, especially with regard to the relationship of the (local) intellect(s?) and its participation in Intellect, at least at Plotinus sees things.
