Oh, goodness, tell me about it—Proclus' middle name is "Persnickety!" If you'll forgive the engineering metaphor, Plotinus had the feel of a very elegant machine—so much so it was difficult to get into, since all the parts fit together just so, so you need to learn the whole thing all at once and there's no clear entry-point; but on the other hand, it's pretty forgiving of small errors as long as you get the "big picture." Proclus' machine, on the other hand, feels very complicated and cantankerous and brittle: misapprehend so much as one small relation and—"boom!"—the whole thing collapses in on itself; on the other hand, one can be led through it step-by-step and it's got all the bells and whistles you could want. It's still difficult to learn on one's own, alas, but I imagine it would have been very manageable to learn with a decent teacher back in the day. I really wish I could just ask the book questions! I'd have it all in no time!

As for the "super-logical" distinction, you're welcome! That was one of the big take-away lessons from Plotinus, in my opinion.
