That reminds me, I wanted to call out—for those not following along outside of these discussion threads—that you pointed me to Ch. 11 of Lynn Thorndike's History of Magic and Experimental Science as a good summary of Iamblichus. (I'm still going through it, but have found quite a bit of helpful context in there so far!)
