Thanks for sharing your translation! Loved reading it.

"Devoted to Ares" suggests a devotional state of mind, while "violent" suggests harmful or destructive activity. The ancient Greek dictionary has several 1:1 translations for "violent".

It seems safe to say that translation comes with many choices.
